On a perfect July day in Virginia, I had the pleasure of capturing Carolyn and Jim's wedding at Lake of the Woods. The weather that day couldn't have been better. It had drizzled a bit in the morning, was overcast, cool, and cloudy right before the ceremony, and then as the bride was walking down the aisle, the sun finally popped out from behind the clouds. I'm not even kidding! I remember that moment in particular, because it couldn't have been any sweeter. The rest of the day was gorgeous! Bright blue skies and puffy white clouds! Oh sweet perfection.
These Virginia Tech newlyweds know how to keep a reception pumped with energy! From the playlist and DJ to the cake smashing in the face, there was never a dull moment. At one point I remember my jaw actually dropped when I saw the DJ take a huge bucket of maracas and scatter them across the wooden floor for the guests to pick up and shake! It was so funny! I'd never seen that done at a wedding! And that was just the beginning. Then he brought out hats of all sorts and instruments. And the best part was EVERYONE got into it! Fantastic? Yes :)
Carolyn and Jim, thank you so much for asking me to capture this sweet time in your lives. I hope you find some photos in here you'll adore for years to come! Take a look.
