I know this is a much anticipated post, since Kelly and Rob were our style shoot winners from the contest back in April! WOOOO!! Instead of doing an engagement session, we decided on a stylized after session one month after Kelly and Rob tied the knot this summer. Let me tell you, I've been SO excited since the day this all happened to be able to share this set! And here they are! Not only were Kelly and Rob UH-mazing to work with, (love the closeness of new newlyweds!), but Wendy from Fete Studio came to style the whole thing! She's got some major skills, my goodness :)
This 1940s era shoot was held in Richmond, VA at the Virginia Center for Architecture. If you haven't been there yet, it's a gorgeous venue....and they do weddings there, too. When I arrived for the shoot, I just couldn't get over all the sweet details that had been planned out! Lace gloves, fabulous jewels, a legit newspaper from the 40s, Rob's hat, the champagne, the florals....the bouquet! It had FEATHERS in it! GAH! I loved it :) The picnic goodies and snacks, the set-tea, the garland, the calligraphy, even a pipe! Everything was thought of!
After sessions are probably my favorite to shoot. Even though people don't do a lot of them, I think they should :) Engagement sessions are awesome for the anticipation of getting married to your best friend, but after sessions are celebrating "we did it!" Plus, there's such a new ease and understanding with each other after being married even just for a month. It's pretty great.
Kelly and Rob, thank you for sharing your sweet spirits with me! I adored photographing the two of you, and I wish you all the best with your new life in Alabama! Congratulations!! Enjoy the photos!
