I arrived at Keswick to be greeted with beautiful skies and dry grounds...that kind of weather lasted up until half an hour before the outdoor ceremony was to begin. Plan B came into play and the ceremony was moved beneath the sperry tent to keep everyone and everything dry. Once the ceremony was over, as well as family portraits, the skies cleared up for us to finish the bridal party and bride and groom portraits outdoors, much to our relief :)
When Chasity's maid of honor made her toast, the weather seemed to all make sense...she talked about another huge storm they'd experienced together during a big life event, and that the wedding was another one of those events that was marked by a storm. I thought it was a great way to look at the day! I mean, beyond the slight hiccup of the weather, the day was beyond gorgeous! The rain made it even better actually! You should have seen the low clouds that formed over the mountains and vineyards...it was amazing.
Richard referred to the day as "The Big Day under the Big Tent" in a message to me, and I think it sums up the day quite perfectly. Thank you for having us there to photograph such a sweet day in your lives! Rain and all, it was fabulous!
Special thanks to Kristin for helping me shoot this wedding :)
And then the sky opened up...
